Perfect is the Enemy of Good

I am typically not a perfectionist but sometimes there is the tendency to ensure that the things I am working on are almost perfect before I show them to the outside world. This delays the work significantly. We must sometimes just let the good go otherwise no one will ever see the good not to talk of the perfect.

Sometimes we want to get everything perfect before we show it to the outside world. This makes us go over the work several times when it is even good to go.

We should not let our desire for perfect things prevents us from showing the already good work. Do not let perfect become the enemy of good.

Become Productive

There are so many distractions in our current world. Our phones have become a major distractor that always comes between us and our work. But if we really want to work and achieve any goal set for ourselves, then we should manage the present distractions.

Sometimes you are busy in the middle of doing some important work then your phone’s notification begins to signal you to pick it up. When we obey the calling of the phone and pick it up after we are done with the phone, we sometimes forget what we were actually doing and this really affects our productivity. How productive are you in this social media world?

But we can do something about these distractions. Yes, your phone is your phone and you own it. We need to master the control of our phone and let the phone know that we bought and we have absolute control over it. We can decide to silence all notifications whenever we are at the office or busily doing some important work. We can always check what happened on that social media platform and respond to it.

Life is Short: Seek to Make Impact

Death always reminds us of this brief life. Life indeed is short. Money sometimes makes us forget about the brevity of life and assume we are invincible. Poverty on the other hand makes life seem longer. But whether rich or poor, life is still short. When we become obsessed with acquiring the comforts in this world and want to sacrifice our friends and family for flimsy passing treasures, we soon realise, it is vanity.

When you hear of renowned, rich and seemingly powerful people dying, it makes nonsense of all the pursuits of life. We chase promotions, kill for lands, insult for positions, and corrupt ourselves for riches. We will soon realise that these things do not bring permanent happiness, they neither bring peace, they only bring comfort with misery if not acquired in the right manner.

When the richest cannot deliver themselves with their money, the best physicians are unable to heal themselves, and they are not different from the poor, it is wise to rethink our actions. Life teaches us good lessons every day but we fail to act on those lessons.

A good name is better than riches. We can have both riches and a good name if we decide to think about the future of our life and its effect on ourselves and our descendants. Let us remind ourselves of the name we are leaving behind as we exit this earth. Some people throw integrity to the dogs and still desire the honour of men. The respected outwardly should be respected inwardly.

Making an impact means we are more interested in the quality of our decisions and their effect on our family and society. We think about our actions on the society rather than the immediate benefits. We are more concerned about the collective good than personal aggrandisement. We care more about our eternal abode than our present accommodation.

Always remember that life is short and you will give an account of how you lived your life on earth. God bless you.

Do not verbalise your negative thoughts

Thoughts are real. When we think about great thoughts and speak them, we bring those thoughts to life. Thoughts that are not verbalised stay inactive and do not come to life. If we want to achieve what God has planned for us, then we must be aware of the kind of thoughts we have and ensure that we either speak them out or keep them there as thoughts.

Thoughts are real and we give them power when we begin to speak them out. When you feel sick and say with your mouth that you are feeling sick, they become reality. This is what most people do not understand. God left creation on earth to man and asked us to continue. Let us consider how God created the world. The world was created with words. God said and the thing appeared. Words are very powerful. Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it shall eat the fruit thereof. So the words of our mouth have creative power. This is why we should not speak out negative things. When negative thoughts flood our minds, we must discipline ourselves not to speak them out. When we speak them out, we give them power to operate.

This is why the Word of God says, let the weak say I am strong and let the poor say I am rich. When you say you are poor, you will become poor. Some people think that by saying your current state, you are being real. But God want us to talk faith. The fact may be that you do not have money but do not say you are poor. Faith the facts. Speak what you want to become and not your present state. God calls those things that be not as though they were. We have to behave like our father in heaven. He is a faith God and we should have the God-kind of faith. God bless you.

Give Yourself Another Chance

Give Yourself Another Chance

We all sometimes fail in this life. No one has ever succeeded without failing at one point. Give yourself another chance.

Failure is a point to learn. Failure is the junction to reflect and restrategise. Failing is the process to doing things differently. We should not wallow in the quack-mire of failure and remain there. Failure should be a stepping stone to achieve greater things for yourself. Give yourself another chance.

Do not hammer on yourself for failing. Remaining a failure will depend on how you see failure. See failure as a springboard. See failure as signal for great achievement. See failure as a means to success. This is what can make you unstoppable to achieve all your dreams in life. You can give yourself another chance to succeed.
