Don’t Look for Outside Approval

External approval sometimes feels good and makes us look like we are doing something great. But external approval cannot be controlled. We do not have control over who approves our work or worth. Seeking external approval may lead to disappointment. People should not be our focus for approval.

Internal approval must be focused on. We must have the habit of motivating ourselves. When we do not even receive any external approval, because we have the capacity to motivate ourselves, we can go ahead to achieve whatever we want in life. Internal approval comes from within when we know our worth and our relevance.

At the workplace, know your contribution and be motivated by the service you are providing. When we do not receive any commendation from anyone, we are already aware of our worth and this does a lot to affect our contribution to the organisation. Many forces will fight against our self-worth, but we should have the ability to generate internal motivation for ourselves and help us achieve the goal we have set for ourselves.

Self-motivation must be our choice. This would make us focus on what we do and forget about external influences. We must keep our focus on the target we have set for ourselves and decide to work to get to that target. There is no to worry about observers who have no contribution to your life and well-being. Do not look for any outside approval.

Keep a Good Work Ethic

When I was applying for jobs, I was desperate, I needed a job, and I wanted one as soon as possible. So, when you are in that state of searching for a job, you write so many wonderful things in your CV/resume. We say that we are hardworking, diligent, innovative, creative, etc. We give ourselves all these good adjectives just to get the job that we desire.

We immediately forget about all these nice adjectives when we eventually get a job. But I think that we must remember the things we wrote in our CV when we were looking for that employment.

It is important we remember them because they can make us maintain our job and even rise through the ranks faster. Keeping a good work ethic will also build our own character and attitude. When we form a bad attitude towards work, it will definitely affect us in the future. Keep a good work ethic to maintain your job.

A Generation without a Conscience

We are a generation of men and women who walk with no conscience. We have become so corrupt that we no longer see corruption as corruption anymore. We sing like angels whilst enjoying phone sex. We have wives but they are not enough for us. We move from the presence of God and live by our own standards.

We become obsessed with movements that come and go without developing a personal relationship with God. We follow individuals who have gifts and forget about the giver of gifts. We get excited about statements from these men of God, but we are not excited about the Word of God. A generation that is quick to follow a wind of change but remains the same.

We make a god out of a man and defend them with every might in us but fail to defend the gospel in our daily life. We don’t care to join a prayer chain, but our prayer life doesn’t become better. This is a generation that is concerned with pretentious godliness. We feign purity when there is none in us. What we do in public is different from what we do in secret. Our secret life cannot be made public because we are ashamed of it. We can declare the holiness of a man of God but fail to declare our holiness.

We pretend as if the preaching is transforming us but leave immediately to our partner in crime to commit the next available crime. We want smart spiritual statements but are not willing to live by them. We shout righteousness on the rooftop but enjoy “eating bread in secret”. We are quick to install Bible on our phones and tablets, but we seldom open and read the Bible.

Let us wake up from our slumber. The devil is satisfied with our present life as far as it doesn’t threaten his kingdom. I would rather build a relationship with God than become a fanatic of another man’s ministry. We must be interested in our relationship with God. How is your relationship with God? Can God approve us? Can God trust us? I will strive to have a personal relationship with God than chase after a fleeting wind. The Lord is at hand. God bless you.

Everything is Figureoutable

Speaking in public was a hell of a deal for me when I was in Senior High School. But I figured it out eventually and it is no longer a big deal. There is nothing impossible. When we examine whatever seems complex very well, we should be able to break down the whole complex structure into a simple and doable task. We must get into our subconscious mind that everything is figureoutable.

Sometimes we see life as overly complex, but I am here to tell you that everything is figureoutable. When I first saw this statement, I thought about it and realised that it was true. Nothing is too complex to deal with. If we can take some time to examine every situation, we would realised we can figure it out.

Perfect is the Enemy of Good

I am typically not a perfectionist but sometimes there is the tendency to ensure that the things I am working on are almost perfect before I show them to the outside world. This delays the work significantly. We must sometimes just let the good go otherwise no one will ever see the good not to talk of the perfect.

Sometimes we want to get everything perfect before we show it to the outside world. This makes us go over the work several times when it is even good to go.

We should not let our desire for perfect things prevents us from showing the already good work. Do not let perfect become the enemy of good.

Become Productive

There are so many distractions in our current world. Our phones have become a major distractor that always comes between us and our work. But if we really want to work and achieve any goal set for ourselves, then we should manage the present distractions.

Sometimes you are busy in the middle of doing some important work then your phone’s notification begins to signal you to pick it up. When we obey the calling of the phone and pick it up after we are done with the phone, we sometimes forget what we were actually doing and this really affects our productivity. How productive are you in this social media world?

But we can do something about these distractions. Yes, your phone is your phone and you own it. We need to master the control of our phone and let the phone know that we bought and we have absolute control over it. We can decide to silence all notifications whenever we are at the office or busily doing some important work. We can always check what happened on that social media platform and respond to it.

CHECK THE S THAT COMES WITH HTTP

These days it is becoming normal to do financial transactions online. We do certain purchases online because it is convenient and comfortable to just stay home and order things and get them delivered to your doorstep. There are scammers on the internet trying to get your credit/debit card details for their own transactions too.

This is why you should be wary of the domain and the security of that domain if you are going to make purchases online. Security has become an issue because of several breaches that have occurred recently. We all need to be careful and be sure that our financial transactions are secured and protected from the prying eyes of the criminal.

We must always look for the S that comes with HTTP. What is HTTP? It is the abbreviation for Hypertext Transfer Protocol. HTTP is an application layer for transmitting hypermedia documents. We will not go into how HTTP works. There is HTTPS which is Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure. The S is either a Secure Socket Layer or Transport Layer Security Protocol. The S ensures that whatever you do on the web is encrypted between the browser and the webserver.

So financial transactions that are done on domains with S are all encrypted and therefore becomes difficult for criminals to get access to your login credentials. So the next time you try to make any financial transactions online, ensure that the HTTP has an S added to it to make it HTTPS, otherwise, flee from that website.

Life is Short: Seek to Make Impact

Death always reminds us of this brief life. Life indeed is short. Money sometimes makes us forget about the brevity of life and assume we are invincible. Poverty on the other hand makes life seem longer. But whether rich or poor, life is still short. When we become obsessed with acquiring the comforts in this world and want to sacrifice our friends and family for flimsy passing treasures, we soon realise, it is vanity.

When you hear of renowned, rich and seemingly powerful people dying, it makes nonsense of all the pursuits of life. We chase promotions, kill for lands, insult for positions, and corrupt ourselves for riches. We will soon realise that these things do not bring permanent happiness, they neither bring peace, they only bring comfort with misery if not acquired in the right manner.

When the richest cannot deliver themselves with their money, the best physicians are unable to heal themselves, and they are not different from the poor, it is wise to rethink our actions. Life teaches us good lessons every day but we fail to act on those lessons.

A good name is better than riches. We can have both riches and a good name if we decide to think about the future of our life and its effect on ourselves and our descendants. Let us remind ourselves of the name we are leaving behind as we exit this earth. Some people throw integrity to the dogs and still desire the honour of men. The respected outwardly should be respected inwardly.

Making an impact means we are more interested in the quality of our decisions and their effect on our family and society. We think about our actions on the society rather than the immediate benefits. We are more concerned about the collective good than personal aggrandisement. We care more about our eternal abode than our present accommodation.

Always remember that life is short and you will give an account of how you lived your life on earth. God bless you.

The Illegal Pleasure

Many professed Christians are just as they claim on their lips and nothing more. The church is for the sick, but when patients refuse to cooperate with the treatment guidelines, their condition worsens. We have become people of no conscience but are afraid to have such behaviour meted to us. Many people are engaged in illegal pleasure and they are not willing to stop the practice. Illegal pleasure has become the order of the day in the sanctuary of holiness.

Illegal pleasure is a kind of enjoyment that is not expected from certain kinds of people.  There is a code of conduct for certain positions and such people are expected to behave in a certain manner not to bring disrepute to the title they hold. Princes and princesses of a kingdom have a way of life and they are required to adhere to that kind of life. Under no circumstance should you become a slave to any other behaviour apart from what you have prescribed to yourself?

Interestingly, some Princes have decided to abandon the noble behaviour and engage in pleasures that do not bring respect and honour to their King. Heirs have rejected their position and have allowed the flimsy passing pleasure to cloud their judgment. They prefer to engage in these illegal pleasures for a few seconds and lose the eternal pleasure that comes with their position as the Heir of the kingdom.

Men in white have changed the colour of their garments to red just because of fleeting lust.  Young men with no responsibility have arrogated to themselves the position of power. Power to undress themselves and others. They show their nakedness with no shame to the public. Respect for has eluded them and are behaving like madmen. They care less about whom they show their nakedness to and they equally do not care where and when they do that. Strangely, men who suppose to command respect and are in the echelons of power have condescended to low-level life with no shame.

These men lift “holy hands” on the day of the Lord to worship and adore Him but these same hands turn to become instruments to undress the daughters of Eve on the same day as well as on other days. The 60-year-old man does not care about the 20-year-old lady. He is ready to undress himself and this young lady just because she requested to do national service in his department/unit/company/business. You are ready to sacrifice your sanctity, marriage, and honour on the altar of promotion. Because of the alphabet (A), you are prepared to do everything for just a letter as a student.

Women in their wedding gowns have abandoned their wedding to chase after the vagabond. You are prepared to do everything for a position. There is no respect for yourself anymore. Your body has become the object of illegal pleasure for all who care to ask. You have thrown respect to the dogs and have decided to wear the garments of illegal pleasure. There is nothing like a private part because all have become public. But you speak in tongues in church every Sunday. A simple question, can you be chaste for just three months without any illegal pleasure? Can you honour your King at least for once? Can you decide to stop letting many men see your private parts? Illegal pleasure will destroy your life.

A male lecturer who is supposed to be a guide to young ladies is now a predator to them. You use your position to demand sex anytime. As a church leader, you disrespected your position when you decided to have sex with ladies. As a chorister, you have become addicted to sex but still, sing like Lucifer. As a prayer warrior, you use your spirituality to bulldoze your way for sex with young ladies in the church. As a pastor, you use your position to engage in illegal pleasures.

This is a warning to all who are involved in illegal pleasures. These pleasures are always very short, sometimes less than 5 minutes but the consequences are huge. You can always keep your zip closed and you can as well always keep your panties on. You can decide to only enjoy legal pleasures. May God help us all.

The Pain of Losing a Son: How did God Feel?

The loss of a child is not a nice experience. I am just thinking about how God felt when He saw Jesus on the cross. When He had to take off His eye because of the sins Jesus was carrying and His eventual death. I believe that day was a very bad day for God and that is why He cannot reject anyone who looks to the cross for salvation. I want to believe that when God remembers the death of His son, He cannot say no to anyone who requests the name of His Son. It was such a painful death and a dreadful experience for God.

I do not wish anyone to lose a child to get any experience. But definitely, some people have experienced that before and they can tell their own painful stories. It is a story you wish to tell every year and naturally, we tend to forget such experiences. How do you suppose God would feel every year when we celebrate the death of His dear Son on the cross? When God remembers how His Son died and how He could not look at His own Son because of what He was carrying on the cross.

Those of us who are parents can imagine our children going through something that we can not look at them because of what they are going through. There was a thirty-three (33) year old man who was killed for no wrong done. Imagine people still insulting Him on the cross, and people even rejecting and denying Him now. Even though His death was foretold, it was not palatable. He had a choice. Jesus could have decided not to die that particular way or not to die at all. He took that decision to die and it was a good decision for mankind.

The world wants to talk about Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, and Martin Luther King, yes they were great men in their own right, but Jesus is the only one who was killed and His death brought redemption to all mankind. God felt pain but men were delivered through Jesus’ death and this brought joy to God. So we celebrate His Son’s death and it is not just remembering Jesus’ death but the transformation and change that death has brought to all men.

We celebrate Easter every year and it is all joy and happiness. This is because the death of Jesus has brought freedom from sin, sickness, poverty, and the prison of satan. By accepting Jesus, we move from death to life, we move from darkness into light, and we change the course of our life for a better place. You are better off accepting this man Jesus into your life. I am not asking you to join a religion, no, I want you to experience the resurrected Jesus. Just try Him for a month, if nothing changes, you can go back to your normal life. Can we bet on this?

And those of you who make it look like you have this man Jesus with you all the time but we cannot see any change in your life. When Jesus enters your life and there is no change for the better, then He did not stay or you kicked Him out of your life because He was too cool for you. You wanted something hotter that can make you shout in pleasure now and pain in the future. You have a choice. Your inability to control your body now will destroy your future. May God help us.
