These days it is becoming normal to do financial transactions online. We do certain purchases online because it is convenient and comfortable to just stay home and order things and get them delivered to your doorstep. There are scammers on the internet trying to get your credit/debit card details for their own transactions too.
This is why you should be wary of the domain and the security of that domain if you are going to make purchases online. Security has become an issue because of several breaches that have occurred recently. We all need to be careful and be sure that our financial transactions are secured and protected from the prying eyes of the criminal.
We must always look for the S that comes with HTTP. What is HTTP? It is the abbreviation for Hypertext Transfer Protocol. HTTP is an application layer for transmitting hypermedia documents. We will not go into how HTTP works. There is HTTPS which is Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure. The S is either a Secure Socket Layer or Transport Layer Security Protocol. The S ensures that whatever you do on the web is encrypted between the browser and the webserver.
So financial transactions that are done on domains with S are all encrypted and therefore becomes difficult for criminals to get access to your login credentials. So the next time you try to make any financial transactions online, ensure that the HTTP has an S added to it to make it HTTPS, otherwise, flee from that website.
